There’s Nothing This Trilingual Star Can’t Do

Anitta has been preparing for the release of her highly anticipated fifth album. She has been working with Max Martin and Ryan Tedder; and has teased the release with the singles “Envolver,” “Faking Love” featuring Saweetie; and “Me Gusta” featuring Cardi B and Myke Towers.

On what fans can expect, she said in a recent interview: “We’re going to have a lot of funk [throughout the upcoming album]. It’s the rhythm I was born with.” The album will be the follow-up to 2019’s Kisses, which included songs in three different languages – Portuguese, Spanish, and English. It’s clear that there are no limits for the star and she is ready to keep exploring different paths.

Anitta recently performed “Girl From Rio” and “Envolver” during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party on NBC. She also made history in September 2021 as the first Brazilian artist to perform at the MTV VMAs.
