Bree Runway Steps Out With “Pressure”

Bree Runway isn’t afraid to try it all

As a genre-fluid musician, Bree Runway wears many hats when it comes to her style.  The BET award winner has influences within her music from hyperpop, rock, pop, and R&B.  Now, after nearly a year of no music, Runway returns with a gorgeous, gorgeous, girl’s anthem. With her new single Pressure, Runway takes on afrobeat and further shows us she really can do it all.

“I just make ’em all gag when I step in the room”Bree Runway from the "Pressure" Music Video

In a press release, the Ghanaian-Britsh singer says “I love how this song embodies everything I am. It oozes Africa with the rhythm of the drums, the attitude, the assurance, and the fashion.”  She continues by saying the song was made with “nights out in mind.”  “You know when you look so good before you head out, and you hope that you bump into an ex or a hater? Yeah, that’s the mood.” says Runway about what applying the pressure is all about.  Indeed, the song is dripping in confidence.  The HOT HOT singer’s lyrics in the track show how it’s just natural for her.  “I just make ’em all gag when I step in the room” she sings.   Yes, she is the one applying the pressure, and phew! we feel it.

Accompanying the track is a music video showing us just what Runway means.  The Nadira Amrani-directed video sees the artist as the head girl-boss in the office.  She struts around in her latex suit calling shots and serving on the office runway.  If only working remote wasn’t so common so we could all serve on the runway in our offices.

We are ready for more

Nonetheless, Pressure is allegedly the first of a trilogy of releases from Bree Runway.  The artist who has collaborated with Glass Animals, Rina Sawayama, and appeared on Lady Gaga’s Dawn of Chromatica album has yet to release a full-length LP.  If Pressure is the beginning of that campaign, it is long-awaited.
