Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak Get Silky With New Project

Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars have just released the first song for a collaboration album we didn’t know we needed until now. An Evening With Silk Sonic is the duo’s nostalgic take on the natural beginnings of funk and style.

When you think about the two artists, their style and vibe makes perfect sense together. Bruno Mars is known for his strong yet soft vocals and Anderson .Paak is a master on the drums. Together they bring so much passion and soul. They have managed to create an album that would be a hit in the 70’s. However so much modern composition and production elevates it to another level.

Last Friday, they released two tracks for the album with special guest Bootsy Collins as host. “Intro” and “Leave The Door Open” gives us a listen how dynamic and groovy this album is going to be.

The song is a ballad that takes you on a journey to find true love. It highlights Anderson’s unique drumming skills and Bruno’s range while they sing about that one person that forever has their hearts.

In a recent interview they let the public know that the process for the album was as organic as could be. Since a 2017 tour and a few experiment, quarantine pushed the two to bless us with a whole project, and we are glad they did. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for these two old souls. One thing is for certain, Silk Sonic is going to be a nostalgic groovy experience unlike any other.

This is the first project from Bruno Mars since his sensational 24k Magic in 2016. Anderson .Paak’s Oxnard and a few 2020 singles including the social justice anthem “Lockdown”.

The full album is yet to be announced, but it should be dropping within the next few months. In the meantime Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars gave us a video of a live performance for “Leave The Door Open”.
