Chemtrails Over The Country Club

Lana Del Rey has dropped the album cover, tracklist, and first single, and music video for her new album: Chemtrails Over The Country Club.

After 2020 delayed the September release of her latest album, the singer shifted her priorities to writing poetry. She released her debut book that month instead. Now that 2021 is here, Lana is back in the music business.

Lana previously released a teaser for the new single, giving us just a taste of what was to come. And now that it is here, in the mix of a grab-bag of news, we have a clearer picture of this latest era of Lana Del Rey’s discography.

She released the cover, tracklist, and release date (March 19th) in a set of social media posts. The music video for the single ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ debuted on Youtube. All of this news in one day? It’s a major relief to her fans, who have been waiting for concrete info regarding the new album since the last record came out.

New Music Video

The music video is a product of the pandemic: restricted locations, a small group of actors, and features Lana in a mask. Despite these new precautions, the mini-film is much like the singer’s previous entries into her album’s visual representations. Nostalgia colors it from start to finish, even texturizes it, as there are obvious film grain effects throughout the video.

Lana makes her appearance as her usual mysterious singing starlet, but now with stunning blonde hair (another product of the pandemic). The visuals are a divide between colorful and poppy versus dark and haunting; wolves and vampire-women battle for screentime against a merry group of family and friends safe at home.

The song itself is an ode to her friends, the people depicted on the cover art; noticeably it is the first to feature a group of people. Her previous album, Norman F**king Rockwell, was the first to feature more than herself.

The tracklist is as follows:

  1. White Dress
  2. Chemtrails Over the Country Club
  3. Tulsa Jesus Freak
  4. Let Me Love You Like A Woman
  5. Wild at Heart
  6. Dark But Just a Game
  7. Not All Who Wander Are Lost
  8. Yosemite
  9. Breaking Up Slowly (Ft. Nikki Lane)
  10. Dance Till We Die
  11. For Free

For long-time Lana fans, you will recognize the track titled, ‘Yosemite’. She wrote it years ago, intending on releasing it for 2017’s Lust for Life, before changing her mind and shelving it. Now that it is out, fans eagerly anticipate hearing it in full.

You can preorder Lana Del Rey’s new album at the link here or buy it when it hits stores on March 19th.
