Elle King and Dierks Bentley Debut “Worth a Shot”

Country Rock and Blues singer, Elle King is currently on tour singing to sold out venues across the United States. Between hits like “Ex’s and Oh’s” and “America’s Sweetheart,” King is playing new songs for her loyal fanbase. On Feb. 28, at a Nashville show, King brought longtime friend and musical colleague Dierks Bentley on the sold out Ryman Auditorium stage.

The two who had collaborated on Bentley’s 2016 album Black with the number one hit “Different for Girls” are together again for a new ballad,“Worth a Shot.”

“Worth a Shot”

The unreleased country song speaks from the perspective of a couple whose relationship is on the rocks. King takes the lead on the first verse, singing of where the relationship once was. The country tune is groove-heavy, with an emphasis on the vocals.

Bentley takes the next verse with King backing him up. From then on the two sing back and forth, complimenting each other well. With lyrics like One shot from the top of the shelf / Maybe two, what the hell / ‘Cause we’ve been on the rocks,” the pair sing. “One shot may be all that we got / I don’t know ’bout you but I think it’s worth a shot …” the song is sure to be a hit.

What’s Next for the Country Duo?

Elle King will continue her “Drunk and I Don’t Wanna Go Home” tour with upcoming stops in Kansas City, Montana on March 16 and Englewood, Colorado on March 18. Dierks Bentley will start his tour “Beers on Me” in Welch, MN on May 27. As far as the official release date for “Worth a Shot,” we don’t yet know. I do know I will be listening to the unofficial youtube version until then.
