Singer-songwriter FINNEAS is back with a new single “The 90s,” from his highly anticipated upcoming debut album Optimist.
FINNEAS’ Debut Album Optimist is Coming in October!
Although FINNEAS is mostly known for writing songs and working with several artists – including his sister Billie Eilish – he has been releasing solo music as well since 2016. Now, he’s finally ready to release his highly anticipated debut album, Optimist, on October 15.
FINNEAS has recently been sharing singles that will be featured in the album. The most recent release being “A Concert Six Months From Now,” and “What They’ll Say About Us”. Since there is still over a month left for the album to come out, we can only hope that we get to hear more music before its release!
“The 90s” certainly offers a different sound from FINNEAS than what we are used to. Changing the rhythm drastically, he starts the song singing peacefully, making it sound like a ballad. As the song progresses, it gets a little more aggressive, which fits the nostalgic lyrics that are being sung.
“Sometimes I think about the 90s. I know that everyone romanticized it. But you could sign me up. For a world without the internet…All the time I should’ve been so happy I was here. Wasting it on worrying just made it disappear. Now my head feels so heavy. I’m left holding up the levee. Feels so foreign, I’m already home,” FINNEAS sings.
He is Going on Tour This Fall!
To celebrate his debut album’s release, FINNEAS will be hitting the road this Fall on the Optimist Tour. It will start on October 25 in San Diego, CA, and will continue all across the country until making the final U.S. stop on November 18 in Boston, MA. After that, he will be making two stops in Canada on November 20 and 21, in Montréal and Toronto respectively. A full list of dates and tickets can be found here.
