Greyson Chance has officially started a new era. The American singer-songwriter, known for hits like ‘Shut up,’ ‘Yours,’ and ‘Boots,’ just released his brand new single ‘Holy Feeling.’ It is the first single off of Greyson’s forthcoming album, which is due for release later this year.

What is Greyson’s ‘Holy Feeling’ About?

“It was a daunting task to write an album in the middle of a pandemic year, I won’t lie. But ‘Holy Feeling’ came at a time when I felt the most stuck and the most unsure of myself; in that way, it served as an awakening. I crafted my entire album around the song, both sonically and narratively. ‘Holy Feeling’ is about being present and focusing on the beauty of what’s in front of you, instead of what lies unknowingly in the future. I wrote it at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, which felt like a second home to me being from Oklahoma. I think it captures a more unpolished version of myself.” Greyson said.

One week before the release date, Greyson headed over to Instagram to give the announcement of the new single. “One of the only things that got me through last year was dreaming of releasing this song, and entering into this next chapter. It’s finally here. Holy Feeling out next week, January 15. you can presave now ~ link in the bio ~ 🤍” He wrote.

Inside the ‘Holy Feeling’ Music Video

The song, alongside being written by Greyson, was produced by Teddy Geiger and Chad Copelin. It highlights his signature vocal prowess. The video was directed by Bobby Hanaford and shot in Los Angeles. Chance was styled and dressed by Anthony Vacarello, the creative director for Saint Laurent.

In the music video, Greyson is accompanied by eight inspiring individuals with different talents. From a ballerina and a carpenter to a tattoo artist, and a painter, each person is shown displaying their love and passion for their specific crafts.

Greyson recently opened up about the visual and it’s familiar setting in a YouTube Live, stating: “The video was shot in 16mm film, and we actually shot this video in the same location as the ‘Shut up’ music video. It was so surreal to be back there, two years later, because things were just so different in my life. The story of this video is about being present in your passion.”

He also revealed his favorite moment in the video. “We intentionally made sure that none of the people in the video were actors, they actually are, they do their craft, what they portray in the video,” he says.

The song is a relatable ballad for anyone who needs a little strength. It has a beautiful melody and Greyson’s vocals only make it better. Go listen to it and tell us, what’s your holy feeling?
