Hayley Williams of Paramore Performs for NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert Series

Hayley Williams, The lead singer of Paramore has joined the list of artists to perform at NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series. These series made for everyone in the music industry, fans, and artists since live shows aren’t a thing this year.

Performing Petals for Armor at the Home Concert

Hayley released her first-ever solo project this May, which included a total of 15 songs. She decided to bring this project to life and perform three songs off the album from home. Joining her on stage was Julien Baker on guitar, Aaron Steele on drums, Joey Howard on bass, and Becca Mancari on synth and backing vocals.

We could feel the connection Hayley had with the band and the audience. In the past few months, she hasn’t been able to perform, so this was her first time in a while. We could feel her energy from miles – or a screen – away.

She started the concert with “Pure Love.” In the song, she tells herself that if she wants to be loved, she must open up first. Then, try to find someone who treats her well.

She admitted “I’ve never done this without Paramore,” and “Taken” was next on the setlist. On this one, she sends a clear message to everyone who is trying to date her: That she’s not available and she’s dating someone else.

Hayley Saying Goodbye

“Alright, we got one more. Thank you so much for hanging out with us. This has been really fun. We haven’t really gotten to do this a lot in 2020.” Hayley says goodbye to the audience and performs “Dead Horse” as her last song. This song is really personal as she describes the betrayal that led to her divorce, including an affair. She really made us feel the emotions she felt through that performance and left us wanting more!
