ITZY’s First World Tour
Kpop girl group ITZY has just announced their first world tour, “CHECKMATE.” The idols will kick off their tour in Seoul on August 6th and 7th, and then they’ll head over to the U.S. to continue. They plan to hit all the major cities in the country. From Los Angeles to Dallas to Atlanta to New York, “CHECKMATE” is sure to be an amazing tour. As of right now, ITZY will be performing in the U.S. from October 26th to November 13th. However, they teased on Instagram that more world tour dates will be added for the next year.
For more information, all tour dates, venues, passes, and tickets can be found here.
Aside from their world tour, ITZY is also making a comeback with their 5th mini album, CHECKMATE. CHECKMATE is set to be released on July 15th, along with the album’s title track, “Sneakers.”
Formed by JYP Entertainment, ITZY is a five-member girl group that debuted in 2019. In 2020, they received 15 Kpop rookie awards, making them the Kpop group with the most rookie awards yet. In 2021, ITZY’s first studio album, Crazy In Love, landed at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Up until the release of their third EP, Not Shy, ITZY’s music was mainly about independence, self-love, and freedom. When Not Shy dropped, fans heard a new sound to ITZY, as the group explored making more songs about love and romance. Many are wondering if CHECKMATE will follow in Not Shy’s footsteps, or if the EP will take the girls back to their roots with individuality and self-confidence.
Regardless, fans are super excited to see ITZY’s comeback with CHECKMATE. The group’s last music release was their Japanese compilation album, It’z Itzy, from last December, and fans are not shy in expressing their want for more.
