Singer-songwriter Jeremy Zucker kicked off his first summer track “18” last Friday, and we are loving it.

Jeremy Zucker Stars a New Era With “18”

“18” is a pop-rock upbeat song where Zucker expresses excitement surrounding a new relationship with an older college girl. Fascinated with her reckless and spontaneous lifestyle, Jeremy’s focus shifted to the thrills that come with this new relationship and girl. “Well she’s eighteen. And she does what she likes. Making out with strangers when she’s bored with her life. And she takes me to a whole ‘nother high. I wonder when she’ll stop coming home. I hope she doesn’t leave me here alone,” he sings.

The song is Zucker’s first solo single since last year’s “supercuts.” Most recently, he teamed up once again with Chelsea Cutler for the brent ii EP. It serves as a sequel to their 2019 breakthrough EP, brent, and Platinum-Certified single “you were good to me”. The EP received widespread critical and fan praise. Jeremy and Chelsea performed singles, “this is how you fall in love” and “emily,” on TODAY and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #PlayAtHome series, respectively. “18” follows Jeremy’s critically acclaimed debut album, love is not dying, released last year.

“18” was co-written and co-produced by Zucker’s friends and frequent collaborators Quinn XCII and ayokay. “‘18’ is written from the perspective of a high schooler dating an older girl, and the thrills and excitement of that relationship,” says Zucker. I wrote the song with some friends while we spent a week in Newport, Rhode Island. It feels straight from the soundtrack of an early 2000s coming-of-age film.”

In honor of the new song coming out, Zucker cleansed his Instagram account. His only posts currently refer to “18,” where he has been expressing his excitement about it. “The beginning of a new era. I cannot wait to share all of this new music with you all,” he captioned one of his posts.
