Justin Bieber, international pop superstar, and The Kid LAROI, up and coming hip hop artist, teamed up again for their latest single, “Stay.” After teasing the track for months, the stars released a snippet on Twitter, which gained a lot of attention from fans. On July 9th, the Aussie and Canadian stars finally dropped the release.

Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI Have Collaborated Before
The pair have collaborated before, as The Kid LAROI was featured on Justin’s latest album on his hit track “Unstable“. Predictably, their newest collaboration shows off their dynamic vocals. Overtop an upbeat, techno-synth beat, the pair croon over distant lovers. The raspy vocals of LAROI compliment the smooth falsettos of Bieber throughout the track.
“Stay” represents a change in direction for The Kid LAROI. Speaking to NME about the origins of the hit single, LAROI admits, “It was probably the most organic way of making a song I’ve ever done – ever… We didn’t plan for the song to happen. ” The 17-year-old Aussie star also admits that Justin Bieber free-styled his entire verse on the track. He also suggested that he would be open to a joint album between them. Should Bieber take him up on the suggestion, fans will undoubtedly be ecstatic.
“Stay” The Movie
The accompanying music video for “Stay” was released the same day as the single, and so far has more than 6.6 million views. Featuring a levitating Aussie, skyscrapers, and incredible CGI, the video appears like a short movie. Directed by Colin Tilley, the 2:38 clip garnered nearly 300k likes within its first 24 hours – an incredible feat for such a young artist.
The Kid LAROI Teases Upcoming Releases
“Stay” is just another success this year for the young artist; in April The Kid LAROI teamed up Miley Cyrus for a remix of “Without You”. It seems as though the entire music industry is recognizing his raw talent. The Kid LAROI also hinted at a few upcoming releases: a remastered version of “F*CK LOVE”, which was his first mixtape, and his debut album. Though he is not keen on giving too much away, the young star says fans can expect his first album sometime next year.
