Opening Acts For Lucy Dacus Tour

Indie singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus has recruited alternative band Crooks & Nannies and folk singer Haley Heynderickx as opening acts for her fall tour. Dacus embarks on her tour this month and will conclude in December. The Virginia native will travel to the UK, Chile, Spain, Tennessee and more throughout the duration of the tour. Crooks and Nannies will open for Dacus at the October shows in Charleston, SC, and Miami Beach. The December shows with Haley Heynderickx will take place in Boston, NYC and Washington, DC.

Crooks And Nannies

Firstly, the “I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Anymore” singer recruits the two person alternative, indie rock, pop band Crooks And Nannies as an opening act. The band consists of musicians Madeline Rafter and Sam Huntington. In fact, Rafter and Hungtington are both skilled vocalists and guitar players. Huntington can also play the bass and contributes sampling in their music.

Haley Heynderickx

Secondly, Haley Heynderickx will embark on the Lucy Dacus tour. Folk music of the ’60s and ’70s combined with jazz heavily influences Heynderickx’s music. The acoustic guitar and trombone combined with her operatic vocals creates a unique sound lacking in music today.

Her debut album I Need to Start a Garden touches on themes of powerlessness and empowerment. She describes her journey in finding power within and learning to protect herself.

Home Video Album by Lucy Dacus

Lucy Dacus released her third full length album Home Video in June 2021 featuring “Thumbs,” “Hot & Heavy,” “VBS,” “Brando” and “Going Going Gone.” The album touches on growing pains, a toxic father, heartbreak, friendship and more. In this album she navigates her teenage years growing up in Richmond, Virginia. On “Partner In Crime” she talks about dating a much older man as a 17-year-old. As a teenager she felt like she was mature beyond her years and was prepared for the relationship. In the aftermath of the relationship, she realized it was unacceptable for this man to date her as a 17-year-old high school student. Dacus released “Kissing Lessons” recorded for the Home Video album, on Valentines Day of this year. This is the latest music release from the singer.
