Maroon 5 enlists Megan Thee Stallion for the first time on ‘Beautiful Mistakes’. It marks the third single from the band’s upcoming untitled seventh studio album.

How ‘Beautiful Mistakes’ Touches on Their Real-Life Relationships

Lead singer Adam Levine and Megan Thee Stallion discuss their love and their longing for their significant others. In this case, Adam’s wife Behati Prinsloo Levine and Megan’s boyfriend Pardison Fontaine. They express the great lengths that they would go to satisfy them. Even though mistakes will be made in a relationship, they still add beautiful value to them.

Both artists teased the song, revealing its title, cover art, and release date on February 22. The official lyric video was released alongside the song on March 3.

Stylistically, the song diverges from the more acoustic sound of Maroon 5’s previous two singles; ‘Memories’ and ‘Nobody’s Love’. This shift to the song’s trap-pop sound is likely due to the co-writing from alternative pop artist Blackbear and frequent collaborator Andrew Goldstein.

Adam Talks About Working with Megan

American Songwriter quoted Adam Levine talking about ‘Beautiful Mistakes’. “It’s almost kind of this great symbiosis that occurs between whoever the feature is and the band; where it’s at this great moment where we feel like we really have read the right timing. And it’s nice because it opens up our eyes to new things, and theirs as well, so it’s really been great. And, yeah, it’s like Megan 100% meets all the criteria for just this really special person, super talented, having a moment.”

He continued, “I was like the little break where you go to the melodic thing, to be honest, it actually shows this new kind of branch of what she does, and this new versatility that she’s going to show everybody right now. I remember when I heard it, I was like oh, that’s big. That’s a side of her I had never really heard yet. She is a superstar, but really in the truest sense, man, she’s all class, and just we had the best time shooting the video, and it was just a lot of fun, man.”
