“I can lick it; I can ride it while you slippin’ and slidin’ / I can do all them little tricks and keep the dick up inside it,” Minaj starts. The track’s introduction is no short of typical jaw-dropping Nicki Minaj artistry: sexually-charged lyrics, witty energy, and a fierce attitude.

In the first verse, she breaks things down, making sure to spell everything out carefully. She goes, “I don’t let bitches get to me, I fuck they man if they try / I got a princess face, a killer body, samurai mind / They can’t be Nicki, they so stupid, I just laugh when they try.”

Though, on the second verse, she holds nothing back and spits fire. She raps, “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe / Fuck is the tea? I just F’d a G / Made him say “Uh,” just ask Master P / […] Get me rocky ASAP, nigga, word to Rih.” The two verses’ distinct sounds are a testament to her versatility, commercially acclaimed on Kanye’s “Monster” (2009). And her goofy “F-R-EEEEE-A-K” is the cherry on top of the song, the playfulness that draws fans to Minaj. She owns it!

Nicki Minaj’s Career Success

It is no surprise that “Super Freaky Girl” coincides with the 11th anniversary of her RIAA diamond-certified mega-hit “Anaconda.” And the sister song is already racking up quite the legacy across streaming platforms.

The single broke the record for the biggest solo debut of all time by a female rapper on the Global Spotify chart (3M) and Spotify US (1.5M). It also experienced international success on iTunes by claiming the No. 1 spot on the US and Canada charts while climbing the Top 100 in several other countries, including Mexico and Australia.

[For reference, Nicki Minaj debuted with more than twice as many streams on Global Spotify and Spotify US than her previous highest solo debut, “Megatron” (2019).]

Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” achievement pales compared to her upcoming MTV VMA’s honor as the 2022 recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Missy Elliott — the first female rapper to win the Video Vanguard Award in 2019 — congratulated the Pinkprint lyricist. This honor will make Minaj the second female rapper to win the award.
