Rebecca Black announced her forthcoming project, Rebecca Black Was Here, will be out in June with a new song “Worth It for the Feeling.”

Rebecca Has Been Working Hard

“Worth It for the Feelings” is Rebecca’s follow-up to “Personal,” which will be both be featured in Rebecca Black Was Here. Other songs included in the project that have already been released are “Girlfriend,” Do You?”, “Closer,” “Self Sabotage,” “Sweetheart, and “Anyway.”

The first singles that will make an appearance in the new project came out last year. It wasn’t clear until now, though, that they were going to form part of it. That’s of course until after “Worth It for the Feeling” came out. The singer made the big announcement on her Instagram afterward.

“It’s been important to me to create as much of a distinct world/era for each single on my upcoming project as I can,” Rebecca said to NME of the new release. “This year has really been a reintroduction. Not only of where I’m at in my music but really everything surrounding that to create a full picture. It’s so fun for me to play sexy in a more unconventional and unusual way. I want to keep challenging myself to disrupt the idea that people might have of the direction I am going in next.”

The “Worth It for the Feeling” MV Was a Fun Challenge

She also talked about the director of the “Worth It for the Feeling” music video, Weston Allen. “In every project we have approached together thus far, Weston seems to always be challenging that in the same way. It makes working together that much more exciting to me.”

“Rebecca Black is one of the greatest 21st-century American folk heroes,” Weston adds. “When I pitched her this video and asked to imprison her in a deck of cards, at a seedy backroom poker game, played with by living-love-dolls, she was very supportive. I’m also very grateful for #sizetwitter and their fantastic Rebecca Black edits. They gave me inspiration to the video’s themes of power and possession.”

It’s clear that Weston made their vision clear to the audience. In the music video, Rebecca wears a stunning red corset while she dances along the border. Rebecca sings about being caught in a vicious circle of love. A high-stakes poker game plays out through the video, with Rebecca seemingly both the players and the prize.
