Record-breaking pop star, Taylor Swift drops “All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)” on November 17, 2021. As a large portion of the world is aware, Swift just re-released her smash hit album Red last week. She is surprising her fans left and right with the vault tracks, All Too Well short film, and now this version. Just like the song used for the short film, this version is 10 minutes long. However, it differs from the original 10 minute version in the aspects of instruments and tone.

Taylor Swift drops this by incredibly sad version of  “All Too Well” by surprise, saddening her fans. It is no secret that there is a lot of heartbreak to unpack in “All Too Well,” especially the 10 minute version. However, the sad girl autumn version definitely amplifies those feelings of loss and sadness with the tone Swift sings in. Her voice is much softer and quieter. Whereas, the original contains a combination of sadness and some rage. In fact, the current top comment on YouTube says “This version is like silent pain. This is like when you are still hurt but you don’t have tears to cry anymore. LOVE THIS!” The “All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version) does indeed sound just like that.

Swift’s New Algorithm to Dropping Different Versions of a Song

Less frequent followers of Swift may not know that “All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)” isn’t the first time she’s released several different themes of the same song. Last year after the release of her album Evermore she created five versions of her song “Willow.” With that said, this could be a new habit for any future songs she has to come, including upcoming rereleases she plans to put out.
