Ever since March 2020, The Weeknd has been taking over the charts, airwaves, and award shows, as of late.

On TV, On The Radio, On… Everywhere!

Since dropping After Hours, The Weeknd’s hit songs remain in the Top 20 of all streaming charts. It’s been there for over a year!

His most well-known and leading singles were “Blinding Lights” and “Save Your Tears.” They have been hooked on the radio, too. Despite his Grammy nomination snub, The Weekend has managed to pop-up up on everyone’s TV screens lately. We’re not complaining, though.

On top of that, he’s given us some of his own most unforgettable performances – all while on TV’s biggest stages. In addition to his Super Bowl halftime show, The Weeknd performed at the VMA’s, BRIT Awards, American Music Awards, and more.

Now the R&B star is continuing his award show take over with two huge shows coming up. The Weeknd is set to perform at the Billboard Music Award on May 23 on NBC. The Show is set to also feature twenty one pilots, H.E.R., and BTS. What a lineup for music fans of all genres!

Then, that next Thursday, May 27, he will perform at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Alongside him will be Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak (AKA Silk Sonic), Dan + Shay, and Doja Cat.

Things might be ramping up for the Toronto native, but things are slowly turning back to “normal” for the rest of us. Though, it is clear that The Weeknd is using these performances to preparing himself for one of the biggest tours of 2022 in a more normal world.

The Weeknd’s After Hours Tour

The Weeknd is launching a headline world tour for his record breaking album. “The After Hours Tour” is set to kick off June 11, 2022 in Vancouver. Of course he is starting in his home country before taking over the world.

The 57-date tour includes arenas across the United States, Canada, the U.K., Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Franc. It goes all the way until November 12 after the summer run.

The Weeknd will be joined by Sabrina Claudio and Don Toliver in the U.S. with 88GLAM and Claudio in Europe. Tickets start at $79.75 currently.

It has definitely been a busy past couple of years for The Weeknd – despite a pandemic. With so much success from just one project, we cannot wait for what’s coming next from this crazy talent. (Outside of his TV spots and world tour, of course.)
