Wet Leg, and in particular their drop “Too Late Now / Oh No,” is the new focus of our Tuesday’s MDD. The British band’s last project has the dimensions of an EP but, at the same time, the quality of an album. “Too Late Now” and “Oh No,” the two  songs on it, carry on the indie rock/post-punk trend that fans really liked with the previous tracks.

Wet Leg, in a few words, are two friends that put that comradery in their music. The first time I heard Wet Leg I was like: “Oh God, these two have so much fun together!” It’s incredible how much they can convey their lives in the lyrics, and moreover without the classic scheme of music. Their songs are of a unique lightness, from which still transpires an underlying sadness.

Until now, Wet Leg has not dropped many tracks, but all are really enjoyable. Who knows,  maybe 2022 is gonna be a big year for the duo. If they want to bring their music to the general public, they really need to increase the number of drops. In the meantime, Wet Leg is focused on preparing for their US tour begined in December. But there’s more. Yes, because the new self-titled album is scheduled for April 2022, and the expectations are highs. The band has all the characteristics for being a big promise now, but most of all, an established name for the future.

Already defined as “one to watch” from The Guardian, and nominated for MTV PUSH UK & IRE 2022, Wet Leg’s music is probably gonna gain more attention in a little while. The punk attitude and alternative rock vibe is their signature sound. Talking about MTV, Wet Leg’s sound is the son of the 90’s music that played on the network then. For content and lyrics, this is the strongest release of the indie duo.

Now, three years after it’s launch, the British band is preparing itself for big things. In the next few months, you’ll probably read more about them from us (waiting for the album). So, stay tuned for that.
